*Why use Polyester:
- Very Stiff Material – High strength
- Superior Wear Resistance
- 230ºF Continuous Use Temperature
- Very Low Moisture Absorption
- Improved UV Resistance Compared to Acetal or Nylon
- Easily Machined and Fabricated
This materials is…
excellent wearing and very abrasion resistant. PET is an non-reinforced, semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyester based on polyethylene terephthalate. The low moisture absorption and low rate of thermal expansion make it ideal for demanding applications that require close tolerance.
- Good Machining Properties
- FDA, USDA and 3-A Dairy Compliant
- Superior Wear Resistance
- Chemically Resistant to Chlorine and Caustic/Acidic Cleaning Agents
- Offers excellent strength, rigidity and machinability
This material is used frequently in a self lubricating bearing surface or slide type applications. Resistant to most common chemicals. Commonly replaces Aluminum, Acetals and Nylons. Used frequently in Food and Dairy Processing, Material Handling, Fluid Handling and Automotive. Other brand or trade names are: Ertalyte®, Ensitep®, Hydex®, Sustadur®, Tecapet®, Celanex®, Duranex®, Ultradur®, Valox®, Rynite®, and Hostadur®.
